For Senior Business Development Executives (responsible for business on the African continent) to:

• Share insights, knowledge and experience of strategic and operational challenges/issues faced when developing and growing organisations into the rest of Africa. 

• Share the unique “on the ground experiences” of doing business in the rest of Africa, to mitigate the associated risks, to seek out synergies and develop opportunities.

• Discuss multinational, strategic and economic issues pertaining to operating on the African continent, from a business development perspective.

• Assess best methods of measuring and monitoring business performance whilst ensuring strategy development and implementation that results in value creation.

• Consider integrated reporting requirements (King III), corporate governance and the standards associated therewith such as sound business practices, sustainable business development, value creation and transparency.  The impact that these, as well as current and impending legislative issues have on business development and an Executive’s personal and business responsibility.

• Improve Peer-to-Peer, Business-to-Business, Business-to-Government communication and collaboration.

• Consider participation in outgoing/incoming trade missions (lead by the private sector).
